Just a quickie… PhotoEngine by Oloneo
Due to time constraints, I am going to just post a quick few lines on the currently Beta product from Oloneo called the “PhotoEngine”. The PhotoEngine software takes working with RAW captures to a whole new level. Imagine being able to “mix” light in multiple exposures like an audio engineer might use a mixer to blend different levels of instruments or effects. The PhotoEngine allows you to do something very similar to this. It also takes HDR do a new level with an easy to use interface and very good HDR processing for accurate and very realistic results.
Although they don’t currently have a Mac version, the more of us that beg for Mac support, the more likely they will jump on that before they release a final product. Also, no pricing information is available at this time. I’ve currently tried using the Beta in Windows 7 64bit (running under VMWare Fusion within Mac OS 10.6.4) with no problems at all.
In any event, don’t hesitate to check it out here: http://www.oloneo.com/
The beta version is currently free to download and use but will expire in October 2010.
I will sit down and post more information including some samples I created with the software and some thoughts on it later this week. Needless to say, it’s something I am definitely keeping an eye on!
